Submit 1 of the following specimens:

 

Specimen Type:  Urine, random
Hospital Preferred Container/Tube:  Sterile plastic urine container (see below for Outreach preferred containers)
Specimen Volume:  Minimum 5 mL
Collection Instructions: Mid-stream urine collection preferred

 

Outreach Preferred Container/Tube:

Appropriate tube from the BD UA collection system (click link under "Resources" to see picture)

Storage Temp Stability: Sterile plastic urine container
Room Temperature:  < 2 hours
Refrigerated Temperature:  24 hours

 

Storage Temp Stability: BD UA Collection System
Room Temperature:  72 hours
Refrigerated Temperature: 72 hours
