Interpretive Guidelines:  CRP High Sensitivity          updated 05/19/2010
Reference Range for CRP UltraQuant:
hs-CRP Level      Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
< 0.10 mg/dL                     Low
0.10 - 0.30 mg/dL              Medium (<2-fold increase)
> 0.30 mg/dL                     High  (Approx. 2-fold increase)

This Cardiovascular Risk Assessment guideline is published by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Heart Association. They Suggest that testing be done twice, optimally two weeks apart, fasting or non-fasting in metabolically stable patients. The results of both tests should be averaged. If hs-CRP levels are > 1.00 mg/dL, the test should be repeated and the patient examined for sources of infection or inflammation.
