This Cardiovascular Risk Assessment guideline is published by
the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the American
Heart Association. They Suggest that testing be done twice,
optimally two weeks apart, fasting or non-fasting in metabolically
stable patients. The results of both tests should be averaged. If
hs-CRP levels are > 1.00 mg/dL, the test should be repeated and
the patient examined for sources of infection or inflammation.
