Females:  5.18 - 26.53 ng/mL

Reference ranges for children not established in the laboratory.

Limitations: Pregnancy, lactation, and the administration of oral contraceptives can increase prolactin concentrations.  Heterophilic antibodies in human serum can react with reagent immunoglobulins, interfering with in vitro immunoassays.  Patients routinely exposed to animals or animal serum products can be prone to this interference and anomolous values may be observed.

*Note: Reference ranges provided on this web site are for guidance only, and may not reflect the most recent changes. Refer to laboratory reports for current data.
