The literature states (Kiltz, Robert, et al) that an amniotic fluid glucose of less than or equal to 5 mg/dL has a 90% positive predictive value that the patient has an intra-amniotic infection.  Conversely, an amniotic fluid glucose greater than or equal to 20 mg/dL has a 98% negative predictive value that the patient does not have an intra-amniotic infection.
