Important Note

Due to specimen requirements, this test must be drawn at TMMC Outpatient Lab 3330 Lomita Blvd Outpatient Center 2^nd floor Draw Station only.

Submit the following specimen:

Specimen Type: Whole Blood

Container/Tube: 2 Greiner Blue top (citrate) – these only fill halfway.

Specimen Volume: 2 ml

Collection Instructions:

Venipuncture should be performed using a 21 G or larger needle (butterfly 21 gauge is ok to use).
Blood should be collected directly into blood collection tubes.
Collect a plain tube first and discard.
Gently invert tubes 3-4 times to mix
Do not centrifuge tubes

Ambient

Do not use pneumatic tube system for delivery – hand carry to Blood Bank, 2^nd floor Outpatient Building

Storage Temp Stability: Ambient, 4 hours
