Negative for Cryptosporidium Antigen and Negative for Giardia Antigen

Assay manufacturer claims sensitivities of 95% for Giardia and 86% for Cryptosporidium.  Interpretation of negative results should be correlated with patient symptoms and clinical assessment.  Examination of at least two fecal specimens may be required to detect Giardia or Cryptosporidium by antigen testing.  Alternatively, the Diarrheal PCR Panel provides a more sensitive method for these and other intestinal pathogens.
